california poppy [Day 2386]

Getting today’s photo done while out to lunch. It’s so nice to get out in the middle of the day for a short little walk and photo break!

My housemate recently installed a ceiling fan in the computer room, which is pretty great since it’s getting  bit hot in there as the summer comes into full swing (plus, y’know, computers tend to generate a bit of heat.)

As is often my way, I had to take a photo of it. Ceiling fans are a frequent subject, mostly because they tend to have lights involved.

Did a little location scouting and venue tour this evening for an event I’m shooting next week. The location (Tooth & Nail Winery) is pretty fantastic!

beats [Day 2382]

I’ve been wanting to get a nice pair of wireless headphones, and now that Beats is technically a part of Apple, I decided I had to go for those. They take a lot of criticism that the price doesn’t match the quality, but then again, so does Apple and I’ve always preferred Apple’s products to others. But I tend to care a lot about polished product design and visual flair. The fold up design, metal hinges, light up battery meter, and yes, the color, really helped sway me. But it was the fact that these included a case that finally pushed me over the edge. Well, that and the whole being owned by Apple thing…

Oh, and taking a photo of the side of your hard is pretty much a total pain in the ass…

I see that someone in the city planner’s office was really out of ideas…

same spot [Day 2380]

While I do enjoy both of the photographs I took to create this, perhaps the thing that intrigues me the most about it, is that they were both taken while standing in the exact same spot. With a narrow field of view, all it takes is a slight change of direction to see an entirely different world.

…the burger [Day 2379]

When I saw the commandment to “Instagram the Burger” I just knew what I had to do for photo of the day. (Note: no Instagramming was actually done…)

old boards [Day 2378]

There’s a trailer full of old boards, which look to be from a torn up fence, right around the block. Makes for some interesting texture.

This is from a telephone pole that caught my eye this evening. I just love the wood grain and the texture of the numbers. But what do the numbers mean? Is it an identifier for the pole? Seems like that would make sense… Will have to remember to take a look at other poles to check for similar numbers to confirm.
