Creating photo of the day often involves taking many photos, as I frequently start off with no idea of what I want to use as the subject. Sometimes I just pick an area and start looking around and taking shots to see what appeals to me. Today, I had whittled it down to three images and was having a tough time picking the official one. Ultimately, this detail shot of a rather weathered generator won, largely because my other two candidates were subjects I’ve used before, whereas I don’t believe I’ve ever featured this generator (even though it’s off to the side of my driveway).

But as a concession to those other photos, I’ve decided to include them below. What do you think? Did I pick the right one?
