I recently joined the Cayucos Art Association, and now I’m pleased to say that I’ve got two pieces up in their Art Gallery! The current show runs until December 11th, so be sure to check it out. See if you can find my pieces! (It shouldn’t be hard, it’s a small gallery, but it’s got some nice work.)

A friend of mine, Mike, was planning to do portrait shoots today for Beauty Infusion, an event for patients undergoing cancer treatment in which they receive support, a makeover, hair/wig styling, and a portrait shoot. Unfortunately, Mike took ill recently and while he’s recovered, was still technically within the possibly contagious period, which meant he couldn’t really be around cancer patients.

He asked if I could step in for him (which was quite an honor!) and fortunately I was free to do it. I was so happy to be part of such a worthwhile endeavor! Plus, it also meant I got to borrow and play around with his AlienBees studio strobe lights. It may take a little while to return them ;-)

Here’s a behind the scenes shot of the little studio I set up at the location.

Never really done a jumping photo before. So that was a fun challenge! And congrats to David and Kitton for a successful wedding! I can’t wait to sort through all the photos, process them, and then share them with you. And as tempting as it is to start now, it’s late, I’m exhausted, and I need to be up early in the morning. So good night and congrats again!

I got the latest Mac OS Update on my MacBook Air this evening. So far, I’m loving the new look! I also got to shoot this with an awesome macro lens that I’m borrowing from a friend. This isn’t even nearly as close as I could get… Really need to play with it a bit more before I have to return it ;-)

The El Moro Elfin Forest in Los Osos is a fantastic place to go for a walk, thanks partly to the wonderful boardwalk path they have out there.

And even though it wasn’t anywhere near the classic “golden hour” around sunrise or sunset that usually helps a lot with landscape photography, the near constant overcast skies of Los Osos helped make up for it.

Today was the City to the Sea Half Marathon, which meant that before 9:15am I had already run 13.1 miles! This was my second time running City to the Sea, my 5th half marathon overall, and I’m pleased to say that at 2:09:12, it was also my fastest ever!
