Another day, another half-marathon… Seriously, these things aren’t even feeling like such a big deal anymore. Which is pretty awesome!
Today’s was my sixth half-marathon and it was held at the Camp Roberts National Guard Base just a bit north of Paso Robles, CA. It was pretty neat getting to run within the military base, especially when we got out to the gorgeous rolling hills and fields used for training. I even got to see a “tank crossing” sign on the road!
The timing on this event was great, as it falls on the exact day that my full marathon training plan calls for doing a half-marathon race. Next weekend’s long run gets to be a bit of a break, by only being 10 miles. After that though, it kicks up to 15 and beyond! (Plus, there’s 3 shorter runs during the week… This full marathon training is no joke. Last weekend was a 12-miler — in the rain!)
