Was out for an evening photowalk and having a hard time figuring out what to take a picture of, when I heard a “meow” and saw the movement of this friendly feline as it approached a rock in the yard I was near. I knelt down and proceeded to take some shots and it stayed put the entire time, except for one moment where I moved a bit too much and it got a bit skittish.

When I was done and got up to leave, it calmly walked away. Clearly, we had an unspoken, mutally beneficial arrangement: I got a photo subject, and it got some attention, but from a safe distance.
