Tonight was the 6th Annual Student Robotics Expo here in San Luis Obispo. It was great! There were all sorts of robots. My favorites were probably the ones shown above that could pick up large balls and launch them.

There were also Lego Robots, underwater robots, a robot battle arena, and even a police bomb disposal robot. I definitely love the fact that so many schools now have robotics clubs and took the chance to share their fun creations with the community.

The police bomb disposal robot wasn’t messing around. That thing is seriously awesome! I wonder if it gets hazard pay…

Providing day care for a five year old can be pretty fun and full of adventure. We had a great afternoon out at El Chorro Park, doing some hiking and some exploring at the children’s part of the Botanical Garden.

Today was the official “Beat the Blerch” race up in Washington, so some friends and I got together and ran our own virtual 10K in honor of it. We even had race support and some excellent chalking for the route, including this nicely done finish line.

This week we only did 10K since one of our friends was out of town for a triathlon, but next week we’re doing a Beat the Blerch half marathon!
